Orville A. Sanders, age 91, New London, died on Tuesday, June 12, 2012. Orville was born on February 18, 1921, in New London son of the late John and Leona (Genz) Sanders. He was united in marriage to Marian Hoffman on February 2, 1946, at Grace Lutheran Church, Sugar Bush. Orville worked at Simmons as a purchasing agent for 46 years, retiring in 1985. He served his country in the US Army WWII, European Theatre.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Marian; two sons, Tom (Ila) Sanders, Iola and John (Jeanne) Sanders, Kaukauna; a brother, Gerald “Bud” Sanders, New London; two sister in-laws, Jeanette Hoffman, Clintonville and Lucianna Hoffman, Zion, IL. Six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends also survive Orville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and numerous brother in-laws and sister in-laws.
Funeral services for Orville will be held on Friday, June 15, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church, New London with Rev. Brian Hennig officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Military Rites will be at the St. Johns Cemetery, Caledonia.
A memorial fund has been established for Emanuel Lutheran church and ThedaCare Hospice.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at New London Family Medical Center and ThedaCare Hospice.
